COVID-19 Unit Project Coordinator Contractor

 

Our team is seeking a Project Coordinator who is a natural leader and collaborative team player. This role plays an essential function, as it is responsible for collecting, creating and reporting on all data collection for the program.

Core Function
  • Provide leadership, data, and logistics support to the Crush COVID Mini-grants program.  
  • Create and deploy systems, working with a team to identify metrics and track measures for determining program success as it pertains to individual projects as well as overall program performance.  
  • Run and monitor weekly reporting of all grant projects, completing official reports for state COVID leadership, including but not limited to the High-Density Communities Unit.  
  • Provide technical support and resources as requested to mini grantees.  
  • Study and provide current guidance on COVID mitigation, community supports, and public health efforts to prevent COVID transmission.  
  • Work with mini-grants team members and leadership to assure implementation, efficient collection, and analysis of weekly reports, mid-project reviews, and final reports. 

This position works closely within the High-Density Communities unit for Rhode Island COVID Unit and may require collaborations with Health Equity Zones, Municipalities, RI National Guard, and State leadership. A professional attitude and comfortability working with various teams throughout COVID response is essential for this role. Expertise or extreme proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and Microsoft Teams required. 

 

Supervision Received:  
Works under the general direction of a Project/Program Manager with considerable latitude for the exercise of initiative.

Project supervision, but no supervision of personnel. 

Illustrative Examples of Work
  • Create and implement use of all program reporting tools, weekly trackers, and monitor use by community partners. Deploy Microsoft suite proficiently, especially Microsoft Forms and Excel. 
  • Generate weekly metrics for project tracking, using data analysis to create narrative and provide insight on outreach efficacy with respect to high density communities. 
  • Monitor guidance and newly updated information on COVID safety, PPE advisories etc.  to help technical assistance specialists advise mini grantees on new recommendations. 
  • Provide technical assistance to internal project team as well as for assigned mini-grant projects leadership. 
  • When requested, direct community partners to appropriate Rhode Island COVID-19 relief resources and guidance, including but not limited to resources available via covid.ri.gov and municipalities: Vaccine registration, testing registration, community food insecurity resources, as well as public health COVID website reopeningri.gov. 
  • Manage appointments for PPE distribution, and with TA staff to maintain inventory of Hand Sanitizer and Masks. 
  • Attend community and leadership meetings as requested. 
  • Communicate with team members and help to organize and coordinate work where needed. 
Requirements and Qualifications

Education:  
Successful completion of High School or GED required, Associate degree with 1 year experience in relevant field (public health, health equity, communications, Social work, etc.) preferred. 

 

Skills:  

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, most importantly filtering, maneuvering conditional formatting. Comfortable with creation and frequent use of PIVOT tables, VLOOKUP functions, and visual charts creations. 
  • Ability to read public health frequently used visuals such as heat maps, cluster maps, box and whisker graphics. Knowledge of GIS mapping is a plus, but not required. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite, mostly importantly Forms, Teams, and live Outlook sharing functionalities. 
  • Proficiency with Teams and Sharepoint interface 

Hybrid position - in person at RIDOH and working from home. Candidate must be willing to report on-site as needed.
